SATURDAY: Line Dance, Country Swing, and Line Choreography
The Edge Competition is a Regional Qualifier for YESSS!! Dance Convention & National Competition.

Two Step
Progressive Freestlye
The Line Dance Competition will be composed of multiple rounds. Competitors will be chosen by judges to advance to the next round. The top three finalists will be given their choice of prize package!
WEST COAST SWING
All American-Jack and Jill (all levels combined)
Partners will be chosen at random at the event.
PROGRESSIVE FREESTYLE
One Step, Two Step, Half Step, Progressive Country Swing
Lifts Allowed
1 Division: Strictly (choose your partner)/Open (All Levels)
TWO STEP
Levels based on CTST standings
Newcomer/Novice (CTST sanctioned)
Intermediate/Advanced (CTST Sanctioned)
ROUND
Number of rounds will be determined based on number of the competitors.
SCORING
There will be a panel of five-seven judges. They will be looking for:
1. Timing/Rhythm(Using the music provided)
2. Stretch and Momentum (creating and maintaining connection with partner)
3. Musicality (Creativity to go with the music)
4. Teamwork(How well you and your partner dance together with connection)
5. Complexity/Variety of Patterns(utilizing different movements to accentuate the music)
PRIZES
The top three individuals in each level will receive prize package including tickets to YESSS!! Dance Convention & National Competition!
Line Dance Competition
The Line Dance Competition will be composed of multiple rounds. Competitors will be chosen by judges to advance to the next round. The top three finalists will be given their choice of prize package!

LEVELS
Open Division (all Ages)
40 + (self explanatory)
ROUND
The first round will be a full song and the following rounds will be half a song. Number of rounds will be determined based on number of the competitors.
SCORING
There will be a panel of five-seven judges. They will be looking for:
Dance Knowledge
(How well do you know and execute the correct steps to the dance)
Timing
(Stay on Count: Dancers will be judged on how well they dance with the music and stay on count with the beat and choreography)
Floor Presence
(Give us a show!: Dances will be judged on how they showcase the dance utilizing energy, individual personality, and style)
PRIZES
The top three individuals in each level will receive prize package including tickets to YESSS!! Dance Convention & National Competition!
Line Dance Competitio
Country Swing Competition
Country Swing Competition
The Country Swing Competition will be composed of multiple rounds.
DIVISIONS
1. STRICTLY: dance with the partner of your choice. You are welcome to come with a partner, find someone at the event, or one can be assigned to you.
2. JACK & JILL random partners selected (no lifts above the waist).
LEVELS
Strictly division will be "ALL LEVELS" mixed.
Jack & Jill division will be NOVICE (started partner dancing in 2021 or beginning level dancing) & STANDARD (Inter/Adv). The competitor will be responsible for choosing the division they'd like to compete in.
ROUNDS
Each round will consist of two songs with 90 seconds of music. The number of rounds will be determined based on the number of couples.
SCORING
There will be a panel of five-seven judges. In Jack and Jill qualifying rounds, competitors will be judged individually inside their partnership. For finals, each couple will be judged as a unit. Judges will be looking for:
1. Timing/Rhythm
(Using the music provided)
2. Stretch and Momentum
(creating and maintaining connection with partner)
3. Musicality
(Creativity to go with the music)
4. Teamwork
(How well you and your partner dance together with connection)
5. Complexity/Variety of Patterns

Choreography Competition
Choreography Competition
The Choreography Competition is NEW to The Edge Dance Event! A song will be selected and all applicants will have the same amount of time to come up with original choreography. You decide the level the dance and complexity. Just show us how the music makes you want to move! Prelims will take place by video submission BEFORE Saturday March 5th. SEND YOUR ENTRY TO TheEdgeDanceEvent@gmail.com . Finalist will showcase their routines in front of judges and the audience during our competition portion of Saturday even events! The winner will have their dance showcase and taught by Edge instructors! They will also receive a prize package!
